  1. OOPS! THE INSTALLATION .XIF FILE IS MISSING!!!

  3. The fact that the Transfer Information File is missing
  4. indicates that the installation disk is either
  5. incomplete, or you have copied it and not maintained
  6. the structure of the installation disk. When copying,
  7. use XCOPY so that all support files and directories
  8. are included:

  10. MD C:\NOSINST
  11. XCOPY A:\*.* C:\NOSINST /S
  12.  
  13. If using the installation program from a hard disk,
  14. you must CD to the installation directory before
  15. typing NOSINST because all installation information is
  16. stored in directories that are RELATIVE to the current
  17. working directory.

  19. Obviously, you will need to correct this problem
  20. before you can continue to install NOS.  You could try
  21. contacting the disk supplier (they may have an intact
  22. original) but if you are really stuck, send a
  23. formatted 720k floppy and S.A.E. to me; Dave G4POI
  24. (I'm in all the call books) and I'll send you the
  25. latest version by return.  You can't get fairer than
  26. that!
